LAS VEGAS — A strike for hope echoed across Suncoast Casino Bowling Lanes this Saturday as Ephriams David Las Vegas, USA, and Strength And Flight under the leadership of David Farrakhan, proudly sponsored the “Strike Up Hope” Bowl-a-Thon in support of foster youth and Purple Heart veterans. The event, hosted by the Asian Pacific Community Awareness Initiative (APCAI), benefitting Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 711 in greater Las Vegas and the Foster Care Chamber brought together costumed teams from across the Las Vegas Valley, with support from partner organizations including the Armed Forces Chamber.
David Farrakhan joined characters from Star Trek: The Fleet, as well as executives from the Foster Care Chamber and Armed Forces Chamber, for a light-hearted and inspiring televised segment on 8 News Now on Saturday, July 18 — just one day before the big event. The group shared laughs, mission stories, and a united vision for stronger community support.
“We don’t just sponsor events — we stand beside those who need to know they’re not forgotten,” said Farrakhan. “Whether it’s foster youth looking for a family or veterans who’ve worn our nation’s uniform, we’re here to show them they have a community that cares.”
Themed teams dressed as Star Trek officers, Ghostbusters, knights, comic heroes, and more brought both smiles and awareness to critical causes. Attendees cheered on bowlers, took photos with the characters, and connected with nonprofit leaders committed to making a difference.
The event symbolized more than fun — it forged bonds across cultures, ages, and missions. Thanks to sponsors like Ephriams David Las Vegas, USA, Strength And Flight and the collaborative efforts of APCAI, Foster Care Chamber and the Armed Forces Chamber, hope is no longer just an idea — it’s a movement.
