As our campaign comes to a close, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined me on this journey.
First and foremost, thank you to the voters of Assembly District 8 who supported my candidacy and participated in our democratic process. Whether you voted for me, volunteered your time, attended events, displayed a yard sign, shared our message, or offered words of encouragement, I am sincerely grateful. It has been an honor to earn your trust and support.
I would also like to thank the many individuals, organizations, community leaders, veterans, businesses, advocacy groups, volunteers, and financial contributors who supported our campaign. Whether you endorsed our candidacy, contributed financially, hosted an event, displayed a sign, knocked on doors, made phone calls, or helped spread our message, you played an important role in this effort. Your confidence in me and your belief in our shared values was both humbling and inspiring.
To my family, thank you for your sacrifices, patience, and unwavering support throughout this campaign. A special thank you goes to my wife, Joanna Farrakhan. No one worked harder, believed more deeply, or sacrificed more than she did. She stood by my side through every challenge and every victory, serving not only as my partner in life but as one of the greatest volunteers any campaign could ever have hoped for. I could not have done this without her.
I also want to thank the great State of Nevada for the opportunity to be a proud resident, community leader, and candidate for public office. Nevada is a place of opportunity, resilience, and hope. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to seek the privilege of serving the people of Assembly District 8.
Finally, I would like to congratulate Joey Charafi on becoming the Republican nominee for Assembly District 8. Campaigns challenge us, test us, and push us to grow. Through this race, Joey challenged me to become a better son, husband, father, leader, candidate, and man. For that, I am thankful.
I wish Joey and his family the very best as they move forward into the general election against the incumbent Democrat. The Republican voters of Assembly District 8 have selected him as their nominee, and I hope he will run a strong campaign, unite our community, and effectively communicate the values and priorities that matter to the residents of our district. I wish him success and hope he earns the opportunity to represent all constituents of Assembly District 8 while being a strong voice for the Republican principles and priorities that inspired so many voters to support his candidacy.
While this campaign did not end as we had hoped, I leave this race with gratitude, humility, and optimism for the future. Public service is larger than any one election, and my commitment to our community remains unchanged.
